As a Department, We Held Our End-of-Year Meeting for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
The Department of Primary Education, Division of Classroom Education, Süleyman Demirel University, held its first meeting of the year on June 12, 2026, at the Dean’s Conference Hall. The meeting covered evaluations of the 2025-2026 academic year and planning for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The meeting was attended by faculty members and research assistants from the department. The main agenda items included the analysis of teaching and learning activities, scientific research, administrative developments, curriculum updates, R&D goals, and quality processes.
Key Decisions
Student Advisorship Assigned: Academic advisors were appointed for each year of study. It was decided that faculty members would allocate at least two days per week for student office hours.
Graduation and Orientation Processes: It was reported that the Graduation Commission would convene on June 19, and the orientation program for the new academic year would be coordinated by Research Assistant Dr. Zuhal Başpınar.
Academic Encouragement: Department Head Prof. Dr. Fatih Çınar encouraged faculty members to increase their output in publications, projects (including TÜBİTAK 2209), and participation in academic events. Plans were made to organize seminars, workshops, and conferences within the department in the coming year.
Curriculum Updates: It was decided to revise course content in line with contemporary needs and to create an elective course pool. The proposal that teacher candidates complete a one-term internship in first-grade classrooms was also discussed.
Quality and Accreditation: It was noted that the EPDAD application process could be completed ahead of schedule and that efforts to comply with accreditation and quality standards are ongoing.
Infrastructure and Personnel Needs: The meeting addressed the need to report technical issues to the administration in writing and the necessity of recruiting faculty members for the Department of Early Childhood Education.
The meeting concluded with the participants’ good wishes and recommendations. It is hoped that the decisions made will be beneficial.
