Recognition of Prior Learning

The recognition of courses taken by students enrolled in the program at previous higher education institutions, either in Turkey or abroad, as well as the competencies they have acquired through formal learning, is carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidelines of Süleyman Demirel University. In this process, the principles of the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework (TYYÇ) and national qualifications are taken into account, with due attention to academic consistency and quality assurance.

In the evaluations regarding the recognition of prior learning, the content compatibility of courses/learning experiences, the equivalency of learning outcomes, and the credit/ECTS load and level are considered. Decisions are made by the relevant boards and committees in line with the student’s request, the advisor’s opinion, and the department’s recommendation. Recognized courses and competencies are entered into the student’s transcript and course load, aiming to prevent double learning and to ensure that students who transfer horizontally/vertically or participate in inter‑institutional mobility can progress in alignment with the program.
