Measurement and Evaluation

The measurement and evaluation methods used in each course are determined by the respective instructor in alignment with the course learning outcomes, program learning outcomes (PLOs), and TYYÇ Level 6 qualifications, and are announced to students in the Course Information Package at the beginning of the semester. In designing measurement and evaluation, careful attention is given to the use of multiple tools and methods, taking into account the level and content of the course, its skill focus, and the conceptual, socio-emotional, and physical skill dimensions outlined in the current MEB curricula.

Evaluation is conducted through various tools, including midterm examinations, final/make-up examinations, quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations, class participation and performance, portfolios, practice and laboratory work, case analyses, instructional activity design, and teaching practice assessments. The entire process is designed to be transparent, fair, objective, and student-centered, in compliance with the Süleyman Demirel University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, the quality assurance principles of YÖKAK (Council of Higher Education Quality Assurance Board), and the TYYÇ standards. The assessment tools, evaluation criteria, and their weightings toward the final grade are clearly defined.

This structure aims to measure not only students’ knowledge levels but also their skills in analysis, synthesis, problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, classroom practice, and professional performance in a multidimensional manner. At the same time, it contributes to the continuous improvement of learning processes by providing feedback to students.
